Mary Dearborn Canada

I read an article in the Toronto Star today (Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005) about a Mary Dearborn who in the autumn of 1904, visited the Don Valley. In one of a number of books she apparently owned, was found a red maple leaf with. Written in pencil on the leaf, was:

Don Valley 1004
Mary Roy.

I have nothing to do with this family, but as a diehard searcher of my own family, and my husband's, I couldn't resist a chance that the answers could be found as to who she might be. Also, the person who has the books would like to return them to a relative of hers.

I will be watching to see if there is a further article in The Star, hopefully with the answers!

The person who wrote the article is Joe Forito. His email address is:

I'm sure Joe Forito would tell you the story of the person who holds the books and Maple Leaf!
