A ROSE DEARIE By Any Other Name (Kerry, Kane)
Posted by: Bill Date: September 20, 2001 at 15:03:25
  of 42

My great-great grandmother's name had been reported on the 1936 death certificate of her son, James Francis Kane, as Rose Kerry.

However, his marriage record on 1 June 1872 reports her maiden surname as DEARIE. The marriage, to Elizabeth Doig, takes place in Johnstone, Renfrew, Scotland.

This ROSE DEARIE is married to JAMES KANE/KAIN and is apparently ancestrally Irish, now living in Scotland, where the marrying son James was born in 1848.

Any guidance -- could I really be researching DERRY? -- appreciated.
