Gwen,
Haven't spoken with you in a while.Do hope you get this.
I just found out that your Jobe (which may also be the same as mine) died on 23 May 1920 in Chilton Co., AL
Hopefully, whoever gave the information for his death certificate knew who his parents were. With any luck, you will be able to find out who Frank's parents were using Jobe's death certificate, since you do know they were brothers. Also, maybe we will find out if your Jobe/Job/Joab and mine are actually the same.
I didn't really have any luck tracking mine after the 1870 census.I found Jobe in Cherokee Co., AL in 1880, but was not certain he was mine (matched the birth year you have for your Jobe - 1840, but as you recall the 1870 census puts the birth year for mine at 1849).
I also got a copy of a photo that is my Ben with his family, appears to be his grown sons (maybe son-in-laws??) - I never did find any sons for Ben.Just daughters, three listed on the 1880 census and then the two born after that I already knew about.
1900 census found been Ben with no children.
Atleast maybe Jobe's death certificate will answer some questions.(or create new ones)
Cindy
