I have no answer for you except... Have you looked under other spellings.. I have Dearmoun in my family also another spelling De Armitt, De Armit, Dearmon, Dearmond, Dearmont,and I am sure there are more.. Yes some people have changed the name while transcribing. Other people in one generation has it spelled three diffrent ways. It is one of the most complicated name I have found. Also the De sometimes has a space after it and sometimes not.
