Hi sarah-Jayne,
My Grandfather had two older brothers emigrated to Australia in the 1860s, one was called William. My Grandfather (Arthur Deas) corresponded with them, but he died in the 1940s. and we have had no contact since. They were the sons of John and Jane Deas. John was head gardener at Lilburn Tower, Northumberland for many years, having come from Fife. He died in 1899. Could we be on the same William? Other family names were David, James, Francis, Margaret, Mary, Catherine......
