Just a tiddbit of other information that I have been able to find. I had Henry Lawrence's wife as Rebecca Hobbs whom he married in 1819, but James H. and I believe, one other son were born in 1813 and 1810 respectively, so there had to be a first wife in there before Rebecca. I did find in the Virginia marriage records that Henry Lawrence married Sally Tate in 1804. So James Henry was the son out of Sally and not Rebecca. Also, I got so see the Virgina Militia Muster Rolls for the War of 1812. Henry Lawrence and his brother, John B both enlisted in the Virginia Militia during the war. What I found to be interesting is that the muster rolls also list James (their father) as also enlisting. While it is likely the case, I thought it was interesting that while he is listed as a Rev. War Veteran, I have not seen him mentioned as a War of 1812 Vet also.
If you are a descendent of James Henry DeAtley, both he and his son, Nicholas(my Great,Great, Great Grandfather) both enlisted into the Ohio Volunteers during the Civil War. James enlisted as Sergent in the 70th Ohio and Nicholas enlisted in the 173rd Ohio.
Both were involved with Sherman and his March to the Sea. James is listed as being wounded during the war and received a pension as a result.
