Rendezvous At Richard Dever's Plantation

This interesting bit of Dever history was copied from Volume III of the Archives of Maryland.
It was under the heading "Indian Troubles"

At a counsil held at St. Mary's this 24th day of April 1661. Present: The Governor, Mr. Robert Clarke, Edward Lloyd, Baker Brookes, John Bateman - Councello.
Upon consideration had of the Acts of Assembly passedd for present syde to be given to the Sasquehannoughs they tooke into debate the finding out a person fitt to Comand the fifty men by the said acts ordered to be sent to the Sasquenhannah Forts and ordered that Captains John Odhe be sent for to Comand the said fifty men.
Ordered likewise that three men be prest out of Collonell Evans, his company, and that four men be prest out of Leiutenant Collonell Jackson's Company, four men out of Captaine William Boreman's Company, two men out of the company formerly Capt. James Langworth now under the Comand of Leiutennant Robt. Troope, four out of Major Thomas Brookes, his company, six out of Captain Thomas Manning, his company, five out of Capt William Burgesses, his company, four out of Captain John Collier, his company, two out of the Division of the Northside of Anne Arrundell River, three out of Captaine William Leeds' Company and that order be sent forthwith to the officers now with the said Companyes to prisse the respective number of men that McFrancis Stockett goe for Chirvigiony the said Company and Gothafried Harmer for interpreter.
That the place of Randyvous of the men to be raysed in St. Mary County, Charles County and Calvert County be at Robert Kinhgsbury's from whense the Captaine is to dispose of them into Quarters. That the men to be raysed in Anne Arundel County be randevoused at Richard Devers, his plantation.
