Margaret, that's some great information on William Deaver, Jr. I descend from his brother Richard. I visited William Jr's gravesite in MS last October. If not for the assistance of a local resident, I probably would not have located it back in someone's field near Early Grove. The orginal grave is still there, in addition to a memorial erected by DAR in 1997. I uploaded photos of both to:

Two or three of William's sons ended up in Grayson County here in Texas around the 1840s.

Is it your belief that the Allison-Deaver House in Transylvania County, NC is somehow related to William Deaver, Jr? I thought it was a different branch of the Deaver line. I ran out of time in October before I could drop down to Brevard to visit the house.
