I have a George Deavours born 1757 died 1829. He was a Rev. War soldier, married Rachel Bishop, and had 5 sons and 2 daughters. His sons names were Christopher Columbus, Abraham, John, James and Isaac Bishop Deavours. the daughters were Elizabeth and Sarah Deavours. I have seen the name spelled many different ways, including, Divers, Deaver, Deavers, Deavors, and Deavours. George was born poss. in Spartanburg SC, (at least he was raised there and lived there until after 1800, where he moved to Habersham Co. Ga and died in 1829.

I would like to connect him to a family but so far, with no luck. He was the only Deavours in Spartanburg Sc as far as I know.

If you think my line of Deavours could be connected to your line of Deavers please contact me at
thank you
