According to the DEVER genealogy book by Linder, Wm. R. & Susannah Burchfield DEAVER had a son Reuben b. c 1758 in MD. He went to NC & could be the DEAVER who m. a KEITH. I am working on the theory that he is the father of Wm. John DEAVER b. c 1778 & Thos. DEAVER b. c 1780. According to Wm. HAMBY'S will naming the children of Wm. John & Thomas DEAVER, Wm. John prob. m. HAMBY'S dau. Their children were Wm. H.(HAMBY?) DEAVER, Polly DEAVER, Samuel DEAVER, John DEAVER, Joseph DEAVER, Thos. Shepherd DEAVER, Mary "Nancy" DEAVER & Reuben DEAVER.
When Wm John died c 1809, I believe that his bro. Thos. m. the widow. Children: Reuben Keith DEAVER, Harvey B. DEAVER & Susannah DEAVER.
John DEAVER, the son of Wm. John DEAVER is my husband's g-g-grandfather.
There are also many Thomas Shepherd DEAVERS in the family & I cannot find who is connected to that name.
Joan DEAVER
