Spelling is always a problem. I think the below is your "George" with a few connections.

1850 US Census AR/Lafayette Co./LaGrange twp, Pg: 188,
En Date 17 Dec 1850, Dwell: 319, Fam: 319
Hughey,              race=white
       Hifary R. m, 27, b. GA, teacher, RE $1600
Atkerson,              race=white
       John C. m, 21, b. GA, farmer
Ligin,              race=white
       Elisha W. m, 19, b. GA, farmer

For the 1870 Census, I think Martha was previously married to a Devus/Deaver and George A. is a son of that marriage as indicated in the 1880 census.
The Wm D. OR W.D.E. Ligon is probably a child of Elisha W. Liggin and a previous wife.

{I think this is the same as W.D./W.D.E. Liggin above}

If you have additional info on the "Liggin" connection to the "Deavours" please let me know.

Good Luck!
