I thought for you Deaver descendents that you would be interested in knowing that Deavertown, Ohio is celebrating its 200th birthday with a Bicentennial Celebration on July 17, 2010. In the late afternoon or early evening there will be a time for the descendents of Abraham Deaver to come together.

Levi, his wife Nancy, infant child Mahala and Levi's brother Reubin Deaver left Maryland in the spring of 1810 and arrived in a wilderness area of Muskingum County, Ohio several weeks later. Levi purchased 320 acres of land and in 1815 layed out the town of New Market, later to be renamed in his honor, Deavertown. In 1819 surrounding county boundries were redrawn to create Morgan County of which Deavertown became a part.
