There is lots of confusion because there were 3 Samuel Deavers living in Rowan County NC at the same time. I'm sure they were all related, but the Samuel who married Elizabeth Farmer in Feb 1787 Rowan County NC was the father of Joshua Deaver, born Dec 1787 and Samuel Deaver, born 1789. These brothers married sisters, Rebecca Hauser and Susannah Hauser, respectively. I have several court records from Rowan County showing these two brothers are in fact the sons of Elizabeth Farmer Deaver, who remarried to a William Weaver upon Samuel Deavers death around 1801. This Samuel who married Susannah died in 1820, leaving behind children, and Susannah's father Jacob Hauser was appointed guardian. More court records show that Joshua was the brother of Samuel Deaver, deceased, working on behalf of Samuel's daughter by Susannah. He's also half brother of Amos Weaver, son of Elizbeth and William Weaver.
The Samuel who married Cloha (Jarvis) in 1820 is a different Samuel altogether.
I'm still trying to place the older Samuel with ANYONE in Rowan County, as brother, father, cousin, etc. because I cannot get any further back than him.
If William Deaver is the brother of Samuel Deaver who married Elizabeth Farmer, that would be a tremendous break through for me. I'm assuming they have to go back to Maryland?
Thanks, and any information I can give, I'd be happy to.
