I have been researching my line for over 10 years, albeit from afar and relying on the mail system to send me court documents. As a result, it is hard to find the generation further back than Samuel who married Elizabeth Farmer. If he was a brother to William, this might help find a new starting point to start looking. I am tempted to look in Maryland.

Also in Rowan County NC in 1787 was Mary Deaver who married Jacob Biffle. Sister perhaps?

Among other Deavers in the same area at the same time I cannot find connections for:

Elizabeth Deaver m. Edward Careal (however futher research shows this to be Carnel) in 1809. Samuel Deaver was bondsman.
Polly Deaver m. Ely Eythceson 1815. Samuel Deaver bondsman.
Charity Deaver m. Jesse Etchison.
Emily (Emelee) Deaver m. Joseph Call 1809.
Sally Deaver sued William Etchison for bastardy claim in 1818.

William Deaver b. 1829 Rowan Co NC m. Sarah Jane Dickerson in IN. I am wondering if this is a son of my Joshua and Rebecca Hauser Deaver since they are the only Deavers in Rowan County at this time in the census? They have a male listed in their census born between 1825 and 1830.

If we can piece together enough family connections, we have a good chance of going back further to finding parents and deeper back into more generations.

I'm off to do a little digging...
