Re: R. Deborde living in 1853 in Texas?

I don't know where this fellow fits into my history, but I've been passed down a old powder measure from my father that has peaked my interest. It is carved from a deer antler, and has a deal of scrimshaw on it. It is very ornate, bearing the initial R. Deborde, and dated June 17th 1853. If any one could give me some insight on his story, prehaps I can fit him into my genealogy. THANKS>>>>>>>>
