I am looking for any info on a William who appears in the 1850 White County census, husband of Polly Jarrell, listed as deceased in her father's will about 1860. I have been looking for their graves or any info about her or her husband, William Cook.
I think it is possible that William was the son of Charles Cook Sr, John Cook Sr or Stehphen Cook Sr. who all appeared in the 1820 census of White County and I believe may have been brothers from York County, SC. William, according to the 1850 census, was born in TN as were most of the younger Cook men of White & Hamilton Counties. I think he was either the brother of John L. Cook & Stephen Cook or perhaps his first cousin. Can anyone shed any light on these Cooks? The Cooks and the DeBoards seemed to have a close relationship and a connection to Howell County, MO. I believe I may be descended from Wesley Cook born 1836, son of Polly and William. If this is true, then his descendants also moved to Howell County, his son may be Stephen Cook ( My G Grandfather) who married Amanda Graves (my G Grandmother)1889 in Howell County. Please help me if you have any information.
