Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

My great-great grandfather was John Lambert Thompson. He was born in Coniston, England in 1823, son of William and Sarah Thompson. I don't know where the Lambert came from but it is a bit unusual for that part of the world. It was passed on down for several more generations.

I am presently working my way back in the Coniston Shurch register to see if I can get more clues.
