I have a little on a John Dolphus or Adoulphus DeBord born Nov 1884 in GA. I believe his parents were George H. Debord (1844-1898) and Sarah M. Banks (1849-1923). Both are supposedly buried in the DeBord family cemetery in Gilmer Co GA. The family of George and Sarah show in the 1870 census for Gilmer, and the 1880 census for Rhea Co TN. Sarah shows as a widow in the 1900, 1910 and 1920 census records for Gilmer. John D. b Nov 1884 shows with his mother Sarah M. Deboard in the 1900 census for Gilmer. The 1910 Gilmer census shows John A. Debord age 31 and wife Ina age 16. 1920 Gilmer shows Dolphus DeBord age 32, wife Ina age 22, with children Joe age 8, Ruby age 7, Myrtle age 5 and Roy age 3/4. The 1930 Gilmer census index (I haven't looked at the actual census) shows Joe H. age 19, Myrtle P. age 16, Annie B. age 13,L. Roy age 10 and J. D. age 8. The actual census records would probably show the stepfather. I believe the J. D. age 8 in the 1930 census is John Dolphus (1921-2002). J. D. and his wife are buried in the Walnut Grove cemetery in LaFayette, GA. I show at least 4 children for J. D.; Debbie, Kenneth and David.
