DeBusk (Du Bosc)
Source: Source number 7192, St. John's Berkeley, noticed in the second of these numbers (South Carolina). This is the original French Refugees list from 1695-1697 and can be found in the Genealogy room of the Charleston City Library on Calhoun Street. The burial records of the city of Charleston show several sales interred carrying the name of DeBusk as well. There are many passenger lists in the genealogy room from the various ships coming into South Carolina from France as well. I will see what I can find. Additionally, the Manigault volumes list Jaques and other French refugees as well. As you go through the lists from Jaques DuBosc, you find the name changing to DuBose and DeBusk finally appears. Hope this is helpful. I am interested in any updates you all might have as well. The land records (what are left) of what was Craven County show our DeBusk's interred at Lynches Creek in the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
