Peter or Pierre DeCuir Late 1800s

My grandfather was known as Peter (Pierre?)Sydney DeCuir. His mother's maiden name was DeLaCroix(?) He may have come to Louisiana from Bordeaux(?)France in the late 1800s when he was a child. There may be family graves in La. We knew his brother as Fred, and his sisters as Clem and Gilda. By 1919 they moved to New York. Reputedly they were cousins to the Albert DeCuir line. A relative was suppose to be Omer DeCuir, a French (?) military officer. I was interested in any information anyone may have on the history of these individuals. Thank you.
