Hi Debbie,

I think that we have corresponded before. I am also looking for a Mary Decuir, and my Mary Decuir married a Joseph Romero, but I don't think that it was Joseph Devisin Romero. My Mary would have been born about 1847 (?). She had several daughters with Joseph Romero: Laura, Mary, Louise, Emily (or Amelie) and Therese (or Theresa/Teresa). Either Emily or Therese married a Delahoussaye. I know it all sounds connected, but so many of the Decuirs/Romeros had the same names and intermarried with families with the same name. She also had one son, Joseph Nicholas Romero (my maternal great grandfather). My Mary Decuir appears in the 1870 LA Census on page 147 (Father Hebert's Books) with her children. The father/husband is not mentioned (maybe he was dead already). Also appearing in the same household is the Leontine Ettie Family. I don't know who they are. Does the Ettie name appear anywhere in your family tree? I hope to hear from you. Sincerely, Diane in New Orleans, LA (Diane1602@aol.com).
