Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
This message is in response to a question from Pam Miranda. I realize this was posted back in '99 and she may no longer be "listening" or perhaps she knows the answer. Either way, this is the information I have.
A "Widow's Application for Pension" submitted by Olympe Babin, states that she was married to Numa (FYI: the application is for the wife of "Numa" not "Louis Numa") on Feb 4th, 1869 by Rev. Plotin (Correct spelling? It is in cursive and a little hard to read) at Breaux Bridge, LA and that Numa died May 28th, 1914 and is buried in Loreauville. The application was made June 8, 1914.
Pam, if you are still reading these messages, I would enjoy hearing from you. We are related on 2 sides; my father's mother, Felecie Decuir was the sister of Ozair (looks like there are lots of spellings; my aunt spells it Ozaire; son of Numa) and my father's father, Dozelia Blanchard was the brother of Louise Blanchard!
