I am also reseaching a Mary Decuir b. in or around Iberia Parish, LA ca 1847. Her parents' names are as yet unknown to me. My Mary Decuir was the mother of Mary Romero (married Charles L. Revol), Therese Romero (married a Delahoussaye), Louise Romero (married Edwin W. Morton, Laura Romero (married a Molless), and Joseph Nicholas Romero (married Mary Russo). The father of these Romero children, Joseph Romero is not listed with them in either the 1870 Census or the 1880 Census. My Mary Decuir and all her children are listed in both censuses as Mu (Mulatto, but her children were white as milk. She was perhaps the placee of Joseph Romero??

The last child and only known son, Joseph Nicholas Romero, was born in November 17, 1878-79 in. He was my maternal great-granfather. He marrried Mary Russo in New Orleans, LA on 09/10/1902 at St. Augustine Church.

I would appreciate very much exchanging information with you.

Thank you.
