Dear Marguerite,

I was very interested in your posting concerning the name of Deeming in and around the Coventry area. My great grandmother was Mrs Lucy Deeming (nee Mills). She was born in Leamington, Warwickshire as far as I know and was baptised in Kenilworth in 1867. Her parents may have been John and Mary Ann Mills. Her first husband was a Deeming and she was said to have had at least two children before she married my great grandfather John Wheeldon at Coventry register Office in 1896. John was from Ripley in Derbyshire but lived Spon Street,Coventry at the time of their marriage and Lucy lived in Sherbourne Street. As she was a widow on her second marriage I've often wondered who Mr Deeming was and how many other children did she have by him before what seems to be his early death.

If you have any details regarding a marriage between a Lucy Mills and a Mr Deeming between 1886 and 1896 or any offspring, I would be grateful for any information.

Thankyou and best wishes,

Steve Wheeldon
