I am married to Grahame Deeming and recently returned from a holiday in Australia. On visiting Melbourne gaol, to our surprise, we found a large display about Frederick Bailey Deeming who had been hanged in Melbourne goal for the murder of his first Wife and 4 children in England and the murder of his second wife in Australia. After Ned Kelly he is Australia's most notorious murderer. Apparently it was thought at the time he was Jack the Ripper but on the occasion of some of the murders in London he was in gaol and therefore couldn't have been Jack the Ripper. I have a lot of information about him if you are interested. I have just started delving into my Husband's family tree (they are from the Leicester area) but just at the moment have taken more interest in Fred.
