Dear George: Please excuse my late reply to your message. I have been away most of the summer. I am familiar with your Deeming source described above. In fact, I do have a copy, and wondered where that information could lead. I do agree with your idea of Normandy or Brittany in France--and a possible "Deeming" retainer with William the Conquerer. Is there a way to substantiate this possibility to any degree? There are some early Deeming dates on the South coast among the Mormon records, but nothing quite that early that I am aware of. Any further information would be most appreciated.
