My family is from Appling Co., but we had relatives in Bacon (And Bacon Co. was actually once a part of Appling. You probably already knew that but I don't know if you live here or not so I thought I'd mention it :). I've heard the names of all the brothers before, but I don't have anything solid on the people you listed and you never know if they are the same people or not. Do you have any birth or death dates for your grandmother's siblings? That might help me find out if we have a connection. You could start with the federal census records to find more information about your grandmother's parents and siblings. They are done every ten years starting with 1790. Don't bother with the 1890 census, it's pretty worthless because it was virtually destroyed in a fire. You could also look at the Bacon Co. Courthouse in Alma for marriage and birth certificates. I'm just starting out, also, but I got lucky: my father is into genealogy too.
