It has now been confirmed by a Y-DNA test that John M. Dean and James Minton Dean of Lowndes Co., AL are NOT brothers. It has been perpetuated since the early 1940's and 1950's by many persons, including myself, that they were surely brothers. Now all of us who have included James Minton Dean in our John Dean family records as a family member must correct our personal records and the incorrect records that we have posted on the web.
