Dear Deborah,

I read your post about Fred W. Deer raised in Ohio and had children in Ontario and Alberta, and I'm wondering if we might be able to find a link somewhere; my great grandfather was David Deer whom I found in Ontario married to Harriet (no maiden name). In the 1871 Ontario census David was 50, a farmer, a Baptist, and he was English.

David and Harriet had 8 children: Susan (m. Donald Smith), George (m. Bertha Gibson), John (m. Catherine Taylor), Elizabeth (m. Albert Carefoot), Mary Elizabeth (m. George Taylor...my gg grandmother b. Jun 10, 1867), Albert, James and William. (I have children for John Deer and Mary Elizabeth Deer.)

I don't know where all of the children went, but my g.grandparents to Alberta, then later George went to Idaho. I think he and Mary separated or divorced.

If you think we might have a connection, please contact me.

Thank you,
Myrna
