I am really getting desperate for help on my Deer line. I have virtually nothing on my ggg grandfather David Deer except what I found in the 1871 Ontario Census he was in Collingwood, ON and it says he was from England. He was 50 years old in that census.

It's very possible he was of German descent, and it's possible he changed his name to Deer when they came to ON. His daughter, Mary Elizabeth, was my gg grandmother and I believe she was born in ON...about 1860 or later. I have the dates, but I won't have access to my file until tomorrow. I'm in the process of unpacking after being away from home for 4 months and I'm using my son's computer until I can get mind set up again.

I would really appreciate any help you can give me. My email address is: mlmcghie@gci.net

Thank you
Myrna
