Hello Larry,
I came across your posting and wonder if you have any more information on your Deer and Smith families.

My gr grandparents were David (c.1817/1820 in England) and Harriet (Smith) Deer (b. 1832 in England). They sailed from Risby, England to Proton, Ontario in 1857 with Charles and Sophia (Smith) Clarke, and Abraham Smith. These Smith's were siblings. Abraham was born in about 1839. I have some marriages and children for these families but lack dates for many of them. Where they ended up is a mystery. I'm told that some Deers went back to England.

Do you know where Elizabeth Deer and Abraham Smith resided, where they were born and where their families came from?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. Myrna
