Deer in German is Hirsch. My ancestors go back into Germany and when they came over to America they changed their name to Deer. They lived in Virginia, and were there before the Revolutionary War. Both sons fought in it under the name of Deer. Martin Deer applied for a pension and his application is recorded under the Rev War Pensions. I descended from Andrew, His brother. In Germany they lived close to Stuttgart
