The earliest Deer we know of that my husband is descended from is Orion L. Deer. He was also called Ora and O.L., and some records call him Oren. He lived about 1872-1969. He married Ethel Doty (she lived about 1880-1969) and had 3 children, Lynn Deer (married), Dorothy Deer (never married), and Claris Emmerson Deer (married Claribel Hensley). I am unsure of their order of birth at this time.

Any information on Orion L. Deer would be most helpful.

It is told that Orion helped start the Indiana Farm Bureau.

Looking forward to learning more.
