Jody, You asked about Evelyn's lineage. She is descended from Hansford Deer (b 1814) brother of James, Jr. Her line is: Lewis Dickson Deere - m. Mary Catherine McPeake. Son, Ebenezer "Ebb" Dickson Deere (1884-1980)- m. Annie Laura Patterson (1894-1984). Dau. Hazel Evelyn Deere (b. 1914) m. Fred Buck (1912-1975). I think her info for you line may have come from the same lady. She states, "Lela Mae is responsible for the history of her family. She moved to a Baptist Retirement Home in Fredericksburg, VA, in March 1988. Oscar taught at Mary Washington College. He died a few years ago." My husband's ancestor was Jennings Deer, another brother. If you would like further info on either of these lines, let me know. Her genealogy research is a little difficult to follow, but I finally sorted it out. Also, she had no info on my husband's grandmother, Josephine Deer, but did have info on her bros and sis. Thanks for the data on your line. Will be glad to share with any info I have. Bettye
