John W. Dees and Mary Dees John C. Dees/Dease
I have a copy of the pension records for John W. Dees and wife Mary Dees. I was researching my own side of the family and we also have a John W. Dees, but alas it was not the one I was looking for I don't believe. John and Mary were both born in Alabama. John died January 13, 1915. He was in the Company "C " 33rd Alabama Infantry. He enlisted in March 1862. He was detailed as a shoemaker in Searcy, Ala. John and Mary moved in 1878 to Angelina County Texas, near Lufkin or Pollock, Texas. If you would like this information I will be glad to forward it to you.
I also have in my possesion Confederate Pension Records of John C. Dees/Dease. It is spelled both ways in the records. John servied in the 4th Inf. Co. "B" Mississippi Regiment of the Infantry and was wounded and taken prisoner at Indianapolis, IN . He was born in Smith County, Mississippi. He died in Sabine County, TX. His burial fee, casket, clother, doctor's bill and medicine were $75.00. and it looks like C. L. Dees signed this form on January 9, 1922. He died on December 20, 1921. It says he died at the home of C.B. Dees his son. He is buried at Pineland Cemetary in the County of Sabine, TX. If you would like this information please contact me.
