As noted in my response to John, my grandparents and parens were always pretty adamant about the "f" in "Defino" being a lower case letter. Haven't any real clue why (maaybe pride?). Where did your grandparents come from? I literally only know that mine came from Italy before WWI, but haven't any real idea from *where* in Italy. Not having exact birthdates isn't much help, either. This is fun, though! I look forward to hearing back from you.
