So Mike,

Can you relate the spelling DEGIAN to your post? I had never heard of it until I discovered my great-grandfather's middle name on his voter reg.

He was born in 1836 in Indiana. No indication of other family members (or anyone in the County!) going by Degian.

I'd be interested to know if you think it fits in. This family were predominantly Irish and Scottish.
