Hi

My DiGiorgio/DeGeorge's came from Francavilla, Potenza, Basilicata.
My grandfather was Joseph DeGeorge, born December 1887 in New York (Manhattan or Brooklyn). His father was named Vincent DeGeorge born January 1, year?. Vincent came to New York in 1887 with his wife Josephine Pandolfo, and with his brothers, Philip and Louis DiGiorgio. Rumor has it that the third brother, Salvator, got on a boat to South America by mistake.

I found Joseph DeGeorge on the 1920 census along with his brothers Philip and Louis DiGiorgio. I also found at the same address a James DeGeorge. James has 3 sons listed: Ralph, Tony and John. Coincidentally, these are the names of my grandfather's half-brothers but no one knows who James was.

Is this familiar to anyone? Any distant relatives out there?

JoAnn
