I have been doing some research on the Degre (with a slash over the last e) family. We spell the DeGree and our branch of the family arrived in Canada during the French Revolution (1792-1797) their parents sent them here to protect them.At the time the were teenagers.Phillipi, Rose and Thomas.Phillipi was our ancestor he married an American indian whom he met as a fur trader. They had three children using the same names, Philip, Rose and Peter as their second name the first for the boys were Moses and for Rose Maria.(Phillip) Moses was our ancestor the Cleophas, then Otis and our generation is Otis also. They did come from the Alcase Loraine region of France.
