Chris, I don't believe that I am related to the deGraft/Hayford line but in 1982, I contacted a person with the deGraft-Hayford name about family history. My ancestor, Lewis Degraf, said in his naturalization papers in 1800 that he had emigrated from France but France covered a lot of territory in 1800. He appears to have been a teenager when he arrived circa 1794 and appears to have been alone. In the early 1800's, my ancestor used the Degraft or deGraft spelling. Please get in touch as I am willing to check any possibility.
