Hi,
Since I read your file, I checked into the Peoria County census of 1850 and found some siblings for Caroline. The census lists Alexander (aged 30); John (aged 23) and Martha (aged 20).
Mrs. Degroft is listed as 'Peggy'. Her first name was Ann Margaret, but apparently she went by her second name. In 1860, the Degrofts were living in Saline Co.
Do you know if the Degrofts in Fulton County are related?
