Lewis Degraf, 1795 FR>PA>MD

Many years ago, I was able to determine that my
gggg-grandfather was a separate line from the Degraffs who arrived from France during the 1600's. However, I have never been able to make the leap over the ocean. I know that Lewis Degraf (Degraff, DeGroff etc) lived in Philadelphia from 1795 to 1800 (have naturalization papers) and then moved to the Baltimore area and the info is clear to the present day. I do have a copy of Ralph DeGroff's book so I am able to follow the information in your messages except for the message about Joseph. Please keep me in mind if you see any mention of Lewis/Louis Degraf prior to 1800.
Many thanks and Good Luck to all.
Patricia DeGrafft Platz
