My Grandfather was a Deherrera. His name was Joseph Malcolm, I am not sure what his father's name was but think it was Rufus. There is also a Manuel Deherrera. Again not sure what the relation was but do know that he was related. My grandparents came from Buena Vista New Mexico. When I am not sure. My family did not talk much about our heritage. There are some rumors that we have native american. Possibly Navajo or Apache. My grandfather married Onufre Garcia. However I was told that her name came from a stepfather and it was actually Clark. I do know that at one time we had distant cousins living in Las Vegas New Mexico. If you can help me with any info on the Deherrera's in New Mexico I would appreciate it.
