My sister's husband's family was DEHN from Zemmin, a tiny village that didn't have a church. The nearest church was Glowitz, and these are in STOLP. This is now in Poland, but was in Germany before WWII.
His Dehn family was
Johann Friedrich Dehn, born May 31, 1823 -Coachman in Zemmin
Married Henriette Wilhelmine Marczinske June 26, 1853 at Glowitz. Children: August Ernst Dehn, born May 29, 1854; Carl Friedrich, born Oct. 30, 1856; Bertha Albertine, born Sept. 29, 1856; Rudolf Johann, born Aug. 30, 1860; Emilie Auguste Henriette, born July 6, 1863; Therese Johanne Caroline, born Oct. 25, 1866; and hermine Marie Emilie, born Sep.13, 1870. This family came to America in 1872.
In these Glowitz church records is a CARL DEHN, listed as a shoemaker in Wollin, who married Johanne Nastke. They had children Hermann Johann Wilhelm, born May 2, 1852; Phillippine Wilhelmine Rose, born Jan. 26, 1854; Heinrich Carl Albert Dehn, born Nov. 2, 1857; Johanne Wilhelmine Henriette, born Mar. 14, 1861; and Adaline Albertine Auguste, born Aug. 5, 1864. Wonder if these DEHN families are connected to yours? Do you have any idea where in Stolp your DEHN's came from? Judy
