this is a shot in the dark, but would all of you please check your records for the following. my family settled in Chanute, Ks area approx. 1870's Charles C. Deckman, but they didnt spell there name deckman when they came from germany. ok i have from my grandmother the following. Charles was 4 when came from germany, married her mother 1895 so he had to have been born around 1868 he had a brother John, Joseph and Edward, Grandma had a aunt Tracie and Hulda either cousin or aunt. Charles never talked of his family, It is said the they spelled there name either deichman, or deischman when first arrived. anybody connect or know any more about this misterous family? Please help email me a
