Francis DeLaMare a Huguenot was in Pasquotank Precinct before 1693 when he got land. About 1704 he made application for citizenship and stated that he was a Frenchman and a Protestant and that he had been in this government for 11 years. Isaac DeLaMare came with him to NC. Isaac has records in Suffolk Co., MA (Boston) and is published as being in Agnew's French Protestants in Exile there in notes from records of Boston Vol 35 of New England Historical and Genealogical Register.
I would be interested where the name King was found as his wife's maiden name. I know she was the widow of Daniel Travis from court records. As he is in Boston, Suffolk Co., MA records they probably were traveling together and knew each other. My great aunts in Pulaski Co., GA told me that thought that he was killed in the Indian battle in March 1713 in NC. But they did not have any proof of this in their notes that I have.
I have always thought it would be interesting to find Col. James Moore's company names but haven't to date.
I descend thru the Pulaski Co., GA descendant line of Selden Jasper DeLamar.Thank you.
