HELP!!! Delancey/ NY/ NJ/ OHIO
I need help finding out who my George Milton Delancey belongs too. I'm going around in circles. Here's what I have:
I found my George Milton in the 1900 census this morning whoever entered the data spelled it "Geogre" which threw me off.
George Milton Delancey born August 1849 in New York showing both of his parents are from New York on the 1900 census. Died 1931 in Ohio.
Familysearch.org gave me a Joseph Yates Delancey born 3/7/1835 in Port Jarvis, New York possibly having a son named George. But I have no info there.
My George married Julia Ann Decker November 10, 1870.
Marriage Index: New Jersey, 1680-1900
Married:Nov. 10, 1870in:Sussex, NJ
Gender:MSource:County Clerk RecordsFilm number:1294801 - 1294805
Spouse name:Decker, JuliaSpouse gender:F
They had a couple of their kids in New Jersey then moved to Ohio. They had 9 children total, only 6 still living in the 1900 census.
He possibly has a brother named Abraham (from family photos we have) and a half sister named Becky "Farmer" Richards.
We also have a picture of an "Uncle" Charles Cleveland Delancey... but we aren't sure if it's George's brother or son.
What else????
The names of his children we are sure of are: Judson Milton Delancey b.9/1879 in NJ (my GGGrandad), John B.Delancey b. 12/1874 in NJ, Flora Delancey b. 4/1883 in Ohio, Frances Emma Delancey, Jesse Delancey (died at age 11), there is a son on the 1900 census that I couldn't read. Then I have pictures of a "George Abraham Delancey"... not completely sure if its a son or not.
We also have a picture of a woman "Mary Irene Fleming Schooler Delancey"... clueless as to who she is.
Goodness, I think that's all, thanks for your time,
Brook
