The smaller house immediately west of the house you refer to is the one that is noted there in Tupperville as the Delancey house.Colonel Delancey's abode and prospects were certainly lowered from the wealth he and his family enjoyed in New York.If you want to see photos of the community and of the house, go to the Facebook Tupperville site.The owner of the DeLancey house set up this page and many of the photos in it are hers.The soils in that part of the community were rather poor.There is an excellent vista and the lower land in front was moderately fertile but from the house back up the south mountain the land was rocky and unsuitable for agriculture.I suspect that the DeLancey's had some money to live on as the farming there would have been a bit of a challenge and then only subsistence.
