Alvin Cecil DeLano ( 1859, Carthage, OH -
1931, Lauderdale County, AL) married
Caroline Powell (1863, Felicity, OH -
1948, Lauderdale County, AL) on FEB 09,
1882 in Moscow, OH and subsequently moved
to Alabama. Alvin's parents were Nathan
DeLano and Caroline Gilkey, both born in
OH.Nathan's parents were Richard DeLano
of Hornellsville, NY and Jane Dill of
Carthage, OH. Richard's parents were
Nathan DeLano of Amenia, NY and Mary
Stanley. Nathan's line was Jethro,
Jonathan, Jonathan (who married Mercy
Warren, granddaughter of Richard Warren
of the Mayflower). The origin of this
line is likely England, as family tradition
was that the father of the Jonathan that
married Mercy Warren was born circa 1630
in England and was also named Jonathan.
He emigrated to CT, not MA. There are
conflicting viewpoints on all this, but
the capitalized "L" is usually indicative
of a descendant in this line which has come
down from the DeLaNoue family of Bretagne, France and whose coat armor is the "Three
Gold Wolve's Heads".
