I have just come upon your posting from several years ago and hope you are still taking queries re: Delanos. I am doing research on my g-grandmother, Emeline Ann Delano, b. in Rockland, Maine in 1856. Her parents were Elitha Brewster (1828-1865) and Edwin J. Delano (1823-1868). I have the line (through both her parents) back to the Mayflower; however, I am having great difficulty documenting Emeline's marriage. My g-grandfather's surname was Barbour and he was 30+ years older than "Emma." The fact that she never took the name Barbour - her 1942 obituary in fact lists her as "Emma Delano" - strongly suggests that perhaps she wasn't actually married. If this is the case, that's how I'll present it in the book I'm writing for my family. However, if she were indeed married, I wouldn't like to propagate such erroneous information. If you don't have such information, do you have suggestions as to where else I might look - other than the "House of DeLano" book, which stops as she appears on the scene?
Thank you very much,
